Pengantar

Halo Bloggers!

It was ten in the morning…obviously, sleep wasn’t permitted for him today, was it? He wasn’t complaining—hence why it never traveled anywhere but his thoughts. He was stating fact as he was woken after a small while of rest.
The quickened pace of that heart monitor was what first stirred him. However, it wasn’t quite enough to get that groggy mind of his to register much. She was lucky that he even gave a twitch towards it. Souji was a sufferer of dysania and it might take awhile before he made much of an attempt to get up—part of the reason he was late to school so often…while the other part was that his beginning class was ran by a certain man who loathed when he was late. That was a story for another time though.
Right now, we are at where he was officially awake. The nurse coming in with quite the powerful opening of the door. If you asked him, that wasn’t necessary unless she was a code blue. Sorry, he was tired..he was stating that there was a reason for door silencer was all. Not that that would have helped as the nurse was just shining with character. She had a loud mouth.
Seeing as they were speaking to one another, Souji kept himself silent while his eyes got around to opening. A small huff of air here and there and a stretch was about all that could be put to his name as a hand stretched over his lips. The bottom one was swollen alright, a dark purple due to the shade of blue mixing in with their natural pink. The nurses here had been kind enough to offer him medicine for pain, but he had been stubborn enough to decline that offer. He already took enough medication as it was..—right, right. They were discussing bills.
That sounded like quite alot to take onto your own shoulders, actually. And if she was ill like he was, it was frequently put on you. She had no parents to give it off to…he remembered her saying something of that extent at the supermarket that one day. Financially, he was a little more stable thanks to Kondou being a guardian for his lack of family. So…how did she pay it off?
It wasn’t his business.
The nurse departing, Souji’s feet found their way onto the floor to allow a grimace as he stretched. He was sore, but there still would be a complaint. In its stead, words were brought out to cover a funny grunt leaving his mouth.
"Didn’t take you long to wake up it seems. What a shame, I was having a nice rest too." A little bit of his usual teasing mixed in there, he looked over at her. Should he ask how she was feeling? He didn’t know…seemed kinda obvious that she would be in pain. But, there was also courtesy if he was to ask. Like said before, he was an awkward one. (http://firstdivisioncaptain.tumblr.com)

Days of his confinement on his bed, there had been times when he would be over worrying about several things. Mostly, it was placed upon the figure he adored the most. Recently, after he followed them out to Tama, he had came to their rescue when both Kondou and Chizuru were cornered. He was glad he could save them, at least buying them the time until they were able to stand again and didn’t have to be in such stressed condition. However, the rescue wasn’t one he would consider as a success. The Ochimizu, as Hajime would have told him, consumes the life energy of its user in exchange for the high recovery and advanced power; and it did consumed his already rotting away life into a pathetic state. The captain had fallen on his knees, coughing up painful course of dry fits. His lungs seemed to be working as hard as his heart would, making awful sounds coming from his chest and out in each of his breath.
After Kaoru told them what had actually been bothering him, Souji cursed quietly. Now Kondou-san knew how weak he was, how pitiful he was, and how useless he was now — or rather, how useless he had been recently. At that moment, even seppuku wouldn’t seem enough for him to die after betraying Kondou’s faith on him. The Souji who had been his lovely little brother, so he thought. Later at night, he was sent back to Edo with Chizuru accompanying him in his sick bed.
He had no choice or an open slot to argue on.
He had known it, why should I keep up the act..?
Weeks had passed, it was almost a month he stayed in the compound. Still, he wasn’t getting anywhere better. His illness was something meant to send death slowly and painfully as the contacted person suffer physically and mentally, stealing away those pleasant memories away gently yet they were taken with such force that wouldn’t be able to be taken back. Souji was just sitting on his futon that evening. Chizuru had just fed him with his dinner when a familiar yet unexpected presence came. She had arrived with every gracefulness a noble would have, the gentle expression on her face which seem to be a contrary on what she was actually keeping in mind right now. His emerald orbs followed her figure as she approached him and sat by his bedside.
Osen-chan, wasn’t it?
He was just about to greet her and ask her purpose of coming here when her words stopped him, right in his train of thoughts.
Kondou-san..? What about Kondou-san..?
She had taken a moment of silence then, looking ever so hesitant in what she was going to say and Souji had been praying in his mind that it wouldn’t be a bad news she was going to tell him about Kondou.
"Kondou-san had been killed."
… What..?
The brunette’s eyes widened in shock, lips parted agape and he swore he nearly forgot to breathe in that second. Did he just hear it right..? Kondou-san was..—
No! That couldn’t be true! Kondou-san is—
Sadly, he has no proof to tell her anything. To turn the table and tell her that she was lying to him or was just planning to give him some mood breaker about Kondou. However, the captain couldn’t find any sign of her lying. The look in her eyes held honesty, worry, and care. There was nothing as truthful as the expression in one’s eyes.
"Are you.." he began, patheticly, his hands trembled in fear, guilt, and anger, "No.. you’re lying, right..?"
You’re lying, right..? Kondou-san can’t die before me..
